Here is a cactus with lots of character and personality. The "Old Man Cactus" gets its name for its fluffy white tufts of hair all over its body. The hairs are modified spines and protect the plant from frost and sun.
This is an easy plant to care for, with basic needs such as direct sunlight and warmth.
Lighting: Bright, direct to indirect sunlight.
Watering: Water when soil is dry. Allow water to drain out of the pot, and remove any excess from the saucer. During fall and winter, water lightly only every three to four weeks.
Best spot: Should be kept in the warmest room. Close to a window where it can get lots of sunlight.
Pet Friendly? No. Should be kept away due to the central spines.
Child Friendly? No. Central spines can cause skin irritation.
